Prioritizing Heat Illness Safety: Keeping Our Team Cool and Healthy
The first week of the summer season has been a success! In my conversation with Isaac Maser, the Crew Manager, he noted that a few crew members faced heat-related issues. It's crucial to recognize that heat stroke is a serious concern. Staying hydrated and cool during the workday is essential — and possibly even more important than the work itself. Let's prioritize our health to ensure we can perform at our best!
Due to the heat-related events earlier in the week, we held a demonstration on Friday about the effects of drinking ice water in high temperatures. It turns out that consuming ice-cold water can actually do more harm than good, as it can shock your system and potentially harm your heart. Fun fact: your body uses more energy when you drink cold water because it has to warm it up for proper absorption. This is why eating snow in the winter to stay hydrated is not a good idea; it can actually dehydrate you.

Showcasing Our Team: New Headshots Now Live
Last week, we had Caleb and Amy Gregg from Gregg Media come out to capture some content from the tug of war event, as well as take headshots for the Sherman website. These have now been added to the site, so be sure to check out our good-looking team!

Experience Sherman Like Never Before: Fly on the Wall
This Wednesday, we had a blast taking part in a fun team-building activity: a drone fly-through! Caleb and Amy from Gregg Media joined us to help create what we’re hoping will be one of the coolest videos showcasing Sherman ever. Everyone spread out across the Sherman offices, and the drone flew around, capturing all the excitement of a typical day here. It was a fantastic experience, and we can't wait for everyone to see the final product!
